Windows Safe Mode (Windows 10, 8)

Safe Mode- Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that allows you to use Windows with basic drivers. If you encounter errors or software problems in Windows, restarting in Safe Mode allows you to continue working and troubleshoot the problem. The Safe Mode feature does not install any software.
In Safe Mode, Windows might look different because Safe Mode uses a low graphics mode for the display. Also, the words Safe Mode display in the four corners of the screen.
  •       ENTERING SAFE MODE FROM WINDOWS 10


1.     Click Start, and then click Settings.
2.     Click Update & security.
3.     Click Recovery, and then under advanced startup, click Restart now.
4.     The Choose an option screen opens. From the Choose an option screen, click Troubleshoot.
5.     Click advanced options.
7.   Click Startup Settings.
8.   Click Restart.
9.   Choose the safe mode option you want from the Startup Settings menu

  •   ENTERING SAFE MODE FROM COMMAND LINE


1. Enable Safe Mode - Type:
    bcdedit /set {default} safeboot minimal and press Enter.
2. Enable Safe Mode with Networking - Type:
    bcdedit /set {default} safeboot network and press Enter.
3. Enable Safe Mode with Command Prompt - Type:
    bcdedit /set {default} safeboot minimal and press Enter:
    bcdedit /set {default} safebootalternateshell yes and press Enter.

To exit from Safe mode type the following command and press Enter

bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safeboot and press Enter


  • USE THE SYSTEM CONFIGURATION TOOL (MSCONFIG.EXE)

  1.  Open Run Window (Simultaneously Pressing Window + R keys on Keyboard) and   type msconfig
  2.   In the System Configuration window, click or tap the Boot tab. In the Boot options section, select the “Safe boot” option. Finally, click or tap on OK
  3. Restart your computer.

  • USE THE “SHIFT + RESTART” COMBINATION

1.     Open the Start menu and click or tap on the Power button.
2.     While keeping the Shift key pressed, click or tap on Restart.

Enable F8 key in Windows-10


As a Windows 10 user, you may have noticed that: Windows 10 Safe Mode F8 key no longer works. You probably can’t help but wonder: does Windows 10 remove this feature? The answer is NO. You can still enter the Safe Mode by pressing the F8 key. You may need to manually re-enable this feature with only a few simple steps.

1.Type cmd in the search box, and right click Command Prompt to select Run as administrator, then click Yes to confirm.
2.Copy the command below and paste it in the Command Prompt, and press Enter.
bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy
3.Restart Your PC
4.Before the Windows logo appears, press F8 to access Advanced Boot Options. Select the Safe Mode you want to boot into, and press Enter.

To Disable Windows-10 F8 Key Copy the command below and paste it in the Command Prompt
bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy standard

Remove Proxy Settings 127.0.0.1


Unable to Change IE/Windows Proxy Settings !

proxy server settings won't change !

  • Actually What is a Proxy Server:
  • A proxy server, also known as a "proxy" or "application-level gateway", is a computer that acts as a gateway between a local network (e.g., all the computers at one company or in one building) and a larger-scale network such as the internet.     Is your Browser showing the pop up "Cant connect to Proxy Server",
    Go to Internet properties -> Click on Connection Tab --> Click On Lan Settings Ohh.. are you able to do that , I mean are you able to click on the Lan connections " then you can change the proxy settings from the options , :-)

    If you cant change the proxy settings / ( Unable to change the proxy settings) what will you do ?


  • OPTION 1
  • As per Microsoft Discussion "This issue occurs due to Internet Explorer settings or permission."
    Check the permissions on Internet Settings in registry
    a) Click on start button > type regedit in the search box and hit enter.
    b) Navigate to the location below.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
    c) Right Click on Internet Settings and select Permissions.
    d) Ensure that your user profile has full control.
    Try resetting IE11, Tools> Internet Options Advanced tab, Reset button.
  • OPTION 2- My Opinion (Manual Fix)

  • DELETE THE REGISTRY KEYS AS FOLLOW

    "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" ProxySettingsPerUser REG_DWORD 1
    "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" ProxySettingsPerUser REG_DWORD 1
